I’m often writing letters like this but this is one of the first I’ve actually bothered to send. Second class, mind; but still I sincerely expect a reply by this time next week. Aren’t I a good little (ethical smethical) consumer?

Dear John West,
I really enjoy eating your tinned fish products, especially your mackerel fillets in peppercorn sauce. Is it good for me to eat so much of them? I’ve been eating them nearly every day for the last few weeks. Also your boneless sardines, but they’re not quite as nice. They’re pretty good though. How do you get all the bones out? Are John West acting responsibly by producing so many tinned fish products? I wouldn’t like to think that you are depleting any natural resources or endangering the eco-systems of the planet’s tasty creatures.
Yours sincerely…
