There once was a poem
that didn’t start well
because the first line ended with “poem”.
And “poem”, you see,
is a word that can be
one with which you’ll have difficulty
rhyming with anything other than “poem”.
So, demonstrably, I think it can be
shown that if you’re in the business of poet-ery
your poems should not refer to themselves so readily,
